IRAs are here, with smarter account moments

Open and fund an IRA, bring over an existing brokerage, and get more confidence at every stage of your account journey.

IRAs are here. Open an IRA directly in the app, with guided setup and gentle reminders if you leave anything unfinished.

Income alerts let you know when dividends or interest land in your account. Turn them on in notification settings.

If you fully withdrew and fund again, your subscription now picks back up automatically with no extra steps.

Budget categories now show the full transaction list instead of stopping after 20 items.

A new account confirmation card explains exactly what to expect after opening an account, while sign-in loading and onboarding reliability have been improved.

August 9, 2026

A clearer Ritual, smarter Home, and guided bank linking

A more useful weekly Ritual view, better moments on Home, and a smoother path to getting your accounts connected.

Ritual’s weekly view now brings money in and out together, with collapsible merchant rows, performance versus average, redesigned insights and action rows, and easier-to-read housekeeping forms. Venmo charges no longer appear as duplicates.

Home updates its greeting when you return to the tab, and the retirement reminder now checks itself off once your Mary & Pip retirement account is active.

Four new post-signup screens guide you through linking accounts, categorizing them, and completing a gut-check review.

Tapping most push notifications now takes you to the right place—Budget alerts, spending nudges, deposit and approval updates, and Ritual reminders all open their relevant destination.

Fixed the Mary & Pip logo not appearing in Gmail emails.

More control over how transactions are organized, more detail in budgeting, and a timely nudge to keep learning.

Create custom categories for your transactions in Spend, whether you’re recategorizing a one-off purchase or a recurring transaction.

Get more granular transaction history in Budget, including clearer detail for each category.

Added a Learn tab reminder to your Ritual housekeeping, so building financial knowledge stays part of the routine.

Resolved issues affecting everyday app reliability and smoother navigation.

Additional performance and stability improvements across the app.

Budgets, smarter notifications, and momentum

Set meaningful category budgets, stay ahead of your money rituals, and get a little encouragement when you’re making progress.

Set category-specific budgets—for dining, subscriptions, and more—with personalized suggestions based on your historical spending in each category.

Get notified when spending reaches the percentage of a category budget you choose, so you can course-correct before the month is over.

New ritual reminders help you remember tasks like paying quarterly taxes, reimbursing someone, and other money to-dos.

Broader notifications celebrate progress toward goals and gently remind you to set up helpful habits, like Auto-Invest.

Investment account controls, IRA tools, and tax documents

More control for your investment accounts—from account transfers and IRA planning to tax documents in one place.

Close or rename investment accounts directly from the account menu. Withdraw funds to your bank or transfer your portfolio to another broker with ACAT—without liquidating.

IRA contribution limits now update in real time. Auto-invest pauses as you approach your yearly limit, and your remaining contribution room appears on the account page.

Initiate IRA distributions and manage beneficiaries in the app, including required minimum distribution flows for Traditional IRAs.

Tax documents—including 1099-R, 5498, and 1099-B—are now available in Documents alongside statements and trade confirmations.

Fixed a blank screen that could appear while scrolling on certain pages.

Fixed connections showing empty items on first load.

Improved the bank reconnection flow when re-authentication is required.

Fixed error messages not appearing when a savings goal image failed to upload.

Fixed linked Venmo transactions being double-counted in your spend total.
