What is the meaning of the name?
The name Mary and Pip has layers. It's a nod to Lord of the Rings, Merry and Pippin were two unlikely heroes who figured things out together. We swapped “Mary” to match our founder's name, and shortened “Pippin” to “Pip,” which also stands for Periodic Investment Plan (a strategy designed for people with inconsistent income). It's a name that feels human, but quietly smart, and chic of course.
Is Mary and Pip just for freelancers and creators?
Not at all. We're building for anyone who feels anxious every time they open their bank account. Anyone who wants a clear starting point, and a community of people figuring it out together.
What will make Mary and Pip different from other finance apps?
Most finance apps are cold, cluttered, or built for a different generation. Mary and Pip is being designed for real life. Clear design. Personalized guidance.
